Thankfulness – seeing with new eyes / Timanfaya ‘Fire Mountain’
Exercising an ‘attitude of gratitude’ is the starting point on the path to discovering the secret – ‘hidden in plain sight’ – of who you truly are. The Observer of the observed.
“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.”
{Marcel Proust}
On the first morning we visit Timanfaya National Park ‘ ‘Fire Mountain’. It is a shock. The lunar landscape. The volcanos. The lava fields. The camels. The fire in the earth. It’s an assault on the senses … disorienting … forcing you to re-orient your seeing. It’s both a new landscape and new eyes. And at the end of the day we share our new way of seeing – it’s always positive.
“The greatest thing a human soul ever does in this world is to see something and tell what it saw in a plain way.”
{John Ruskin}
